Japan & USA
Friendship Flight 2025

After successfully accomplishing a solo Earthrounder mission flight in 2021, Aero Zypangu and Shinji are now embarking on a new mission to once again take to the skies of America with his mentor, Adrian Eichhorn: "Fly Blue Horizons", in 2025. It marks the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II (Note: canceled to fly into Japan with two Bonanza) . Shinji and Adrian will fly in U.S.A. together to symbolize the friendship between Japan and the United States.

EARTHROUNDER MISSION HAS BEEN ACCOMPOLISHED.

A one-eyed pilot, Shinji Maeda, completed his mission to fly around the world to inspire more people to pursue their dreams. There is nothing impossible - He delivered this message to people worldwide and showed how to change the "impossible" to "I'm possible."

BRIG. GEN. CHARLES E. MCGEE AVIATION INSPIRATION AWARD

Honoring a Trailblazing Pilot: Shinji Maeda received the Brigadier General Charles E. McGee Aviation Inspirational Award at the historic lobby Terminal A, Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport in Arlington, Virginia in March, 2025.

We are thrilled to celebrate Shinji as he received this prestigious award, recognizing his incredible journey, resilience, and contributions to aviation. From overcoming challenges to inspiring others with his dedication and passion for flying, Shinji has set a remarkable example for aspiring aviators everywhere.

"If I can do it,
you
CAN do it too"

At the age of 18, Shinji lost his right eyesight in a car accident, crushing his dream of becoming a pilot in Japan due to legal constraints. Undeterred by the tragedy, he defied the odds and achieved his goal and became a pilot in the U.S. Today, as a flight instructor, he shares his love for flying with his students, sending an inspirational message that has touched the lives of thousands in both the U.S. and Japan.

BLOG POST

"Our middle school students LOVED Mr. Maeda’s inspirational speech! He was fun, energetic, and instantly connected with our students. His story was inspiring, and the students were very engaged. I really enjoyed how his story was about his family, friends, GRIT, and perseverance, all of which is something the youth needs in today’s world."
